Well, Lacie got married. She wanted me to do her bridal portraits so I did. No matter our fashion/pageant history together, Lacie is a flower child and she loves vintage..and she love peace signs, and she loves flowers..  Photographing Lacie’s bridal required a “throw-back” style and coloration and to tell you the truth, I do enjoy doing that sometimes. Anyway, I hope you enjoy looking at a few photos from her session.

The first image is that one that she chose for her main bridal portrait. this dress was handmade by a family friend/dressmaker of her family. Her name is Rupa and she is incredible. The dress is made out of exquisite french lace and the belt was hand sewn from a bunch of natural stone necklaces that Lacie procured. Each stone type has some meaning around “love”. I have never seen a bridal belt like this before and it is truly beautiful.  Makeup, of course, was provided by Maris Malone Calderon, who I work with ALL THE TIME. She does makeup for about 95% of my clients that wear makeup. I think only a few of my brides were not able to book her in time. So if you need makeup, call Maris but book early!

Well I truly love photographing their covers, they are so much fun for me and I do love bridal fashion! Enjoy.

I love child photography, I also like to create new and different things for the clients that have come to me several times. I have photographed Bella before and I have now photographed her baby brother twice too.

As photographers, we strive to provide something new every time we phototgraph the same children. This particular portrat was done in my studio. I just love it. The light is so pretty, it looks like she has a mottled effect from trees on the columns, the canvas background gave it some depth.  I wanted an old film photograph of her and I got it.

PPA:”Need like 65 images in the next couple of days for the article”
me: “done in 24 hours”

Two weeks ago:
PPA: “Hi this is PPA, one of your images has been selected for the cover”
me inside:”No freaking way! I am going to die happy right now” me out loud” No freaking way! I am going to die happy right now” ha ha

Okay, so now you know my last two months. So now the actual blog. I am so honored to have Professional Photographer Magazine write an article about me and how I incorporate my fashion work into my senior work. It is such a blessing that a great magazine like that would feature me. I subscribe to this magazine and I always look at it and think..they always feature awesome photographers.  Now, I am one of “those guys” and I am so humbled that they chose me. I just do my thing and it is so nice to know that someone noticed. It is always great to get magazines and I get them in fashion and bridal all the time but this one..from peers, that is an honor for me.

So the cover is of one of my clients from San Antonio. What a gorgeous girl. I do not remember high school girls looking the way they do now when I was in high school! She is such a sweetheart and you can see her entire family in my portraits section under”family” Their entire family is so sweet.  you will also see several other of my favorite clients in the magazine and I will tell you I really did submit 65 images and they chose some of my favorites kids.  I will post the story below, you probably will not be able to actually read the article but you can at least see the photos that they chose.

I just love it when I get a chance to work with Austin Wedding Day: Great people, Great Magazine (huge), and Great everything. If you love weddings, go out and get yourself a copy at Barnes and Noble or other stores.

Maddie has super super short blonde hair (pixie cut) and so we had to use hair pieces to change her look.  We wanted to show her as many different looks to give her the best portfolio she can have before she starts to audition for editorial or runway looks in Asia.

Each makeup look is combined with certain lighting and meticulous hair placement to create different shadows and shapes in the face in order to make her look different in every photo.  Anyway.. hope you like them. P.S. I love the feather headpiece on the last one. looks a lot like hair
