Welcome to the world Khloe

August 22nd, 2010

While I have babies come into the studio, I realized that I have not blogged about any in a while.  Well everyone… Welcome Khloe into the world. Khloe’s parents were thrilled to give birth to this baby on August 17th.. Khloe was born In San Antonio and her family brought here here on her 4th day birthday.  What a doll. The funny thing is that they told me that  they were a little worried about getting photos because all she does is sleep and she does not keep her eyes open for more than a few minutes. I told them that in fact, that was awesome because we would get some sweet, sleeping photos of her and that would be just as cute as her eyes being wide open. WRONG.

Khloe would NOT sleep. Ha ha, she wiggled every which-a-way. It was hilarious. We were truly lucky to get a few photos of her being still at all. She did not cry or anything like that, she just kept kicking her legs and punching her arms out and I am sure was wondering…what the heck am I doing here and where is here? Yes, I am positive that this 4 day old was thinking that. I know what you are thinking while you are reading this so, just remember when you’re reading my blog, you are in my world and in my world, 4 day old babies think like that. :)

So, anyway, her little face was so precious and her little hands and her little feet were adorable and wrinkly. Anyway, I really do love it when babies come into the studio as they are so precious and delicate and how can a person not fall in love with each and every one of them?

Awwww….twins.

June 3rd, 2010

My BFF is a twin. I always wanted a twin, but I don’t have any siblings.. Anyway, meet Jake and Cole. They are so cute! They were both little preemies and so adorable. I can’t believe how little they were. I mean, Dad’s ring was the size of the palm of their hands!  We did the photos at their home because they were too small and they needed to stay in their environment in order to stay healthy.  So, I got to their place where I was greeted so nicely by Mom and Dad and their beautiful Labrador (Whom I thought was a riot and I loved him. I love dogs. Anyone who knows me, know this fact.., yes, I know, I am getting sidetracked)

On to Jake and Cole–Ha ha, photographing little baby boys cracks me up because they ALWAYS HAVE PROJECTILE PEE.  Ha ha ha… So, being a photographer,  I am so used to babies peeing when they get their photos taken but the priceless thing is the look on the parents’ faces when their baby pees on me or them or whatever while they are getting photographed.  It happened during this session and it was so funny and it is almost always the same reaction: Mom is…HORRIFIED.  Dad is…”wow, look how far that went!”. LOL. What a job sometimes but then you see these precious little babies and it just makes it all worthwhile, you can wash your clothes but those babies are only teeny for a short time in their lives.  I am looking forward to photographing these two as they get older.

I used Westcott Spiderlites onsite with these little ones and I know I have been talking a lot about these but I am telling you-I am truly in love with them. I think all photographers should have at least one set in their repertoire of lighting equipment. They were very useful on location for me.

Enjoy!

P.S. I think Cole is actually smiling in his slumber-that is sooo precious!!!

Mischa: Welcome to the world!

July 9th, 2009

Hello everyone.  Okay, so all of you know that I am fairly new to blogging so I am still trying to figure out what exactly to blog about. Well, we all know that I love fashion and I photograph weddings and portraits but I apparently never talk about the people whose portraits I take unless they are fashion models. Why? I dunno :)   So, let’s change it up! I love all the people that I photograph, it is one of my favorite things.  Most people don’t even know it but I photograph kids..newborns to seniors in high school.  I like being someone who can give them a memory of their childhood or at least a glimpse of it.  I am so greatful that my parents took photography very seriously and I have TONS of photos of my childhood and that is what I cherish the most now that I am an adult (well, I think I am an adult, ask my friends :) )

I would like to officially welcome Mischa to the world. Mischa is three weeks old and she was a doll yesterday when we were taking her photos. Here are two photos of her that I absolutely love.

The teddy bear that she is photographed with was her mother’s bear from when she was a little girl, that so that was so awesome! I don’t have any of my toys from when I was a little girl so that was cool to me.

She is an amazing little girl and I want to wish her the best in her life!
