Wedding Goodies: Veils!

May 21st, 2009

Weddings have a lot of details. Everyone knows it. One of the details is the veil.  I do a lot of photo advertisement for UNVEILED BRIDAL DESIGNS and it is truly one of my favorite commerical shoots that I can do. I looooooove wedding veils: long ones, short ones..Anyway, I was thinking the other day that I should totally blog about the work that Dorene does. Who is Dorene? Dorene is an artist. She is a veil artist. She makes some of the best veils in the country. Bridal shops everywhere beg for her to sell to them but she chooses not to. Dorene likes to work with the bride directly – how many people do that these days??

Anyway, I just did some new photos for her advertising and I thought you would like to see them.  She makes long veils(cathedral veils), short veils(blushers) and birdcage veils.. There isn’t anything that you can think of with respect to a veil that Dorene can’t make.   So…if you are a bride or know a bride to be-introduce her to Dorene at Unveiled Bridal Designs and consider something super special for your veil.

Here are the photos for Dorene’s new advertising.  The top veil is the FLEUR birdcage veil and the bottom one is the WORLD PREMIERE of the TRIANGLE veil.  We shot the TRIANGLE in black but you can certainly get it in any color you choose… One of Dorene’s headpieces (and my photo) was chosen for the online blog of Destination I Do Magazine blog (MAy 11th, 2009 blog)

BY THE WAY…In case you were wondering who did the makeup for this shoot–MARIS MALONE CALDERON. YES, she is THAT GOOD!! Maris does makeup for all occasions including, but not limited to.. weddings, bridals, pageants, commerical, editorial. Give her a buzz (you can also find her on my wedding vendors page)

THE FLEUR, combined with white feathers on the head.

Wedding fashion shoot in Texas Wedding Guide

May 13th, 2009

Hi everyone!

It has been a while since I have blogged but, I was excited because I just got a copy of the new Austin’s Wedding Guide and I am so proud to be the first photographer to do an actual fashion shoot for the magazine!  The Austin’s Wedding guide has traditionally not had fashion shots inside -UNTIL NOW. I am so excited because this was so much fun to do. I love FASHION and I love BRIDAL, so marrying the two is always exciting.

First, I want to give a “shout out” to Sheila (the editor) and Bob (the owner) for taking the fashion leap and putting in the spread. I think it came out really pretty. Second, I would like to give a shout out to Serendipty bridal for providing the dresses as well as to Petal Pushers for doing the floral work.  Next, I would like to say THANK YOU to the gorgeous models that we had in the shoot: Caitlin, Catherine, Laura, Tera, and AnnaMonette-you ladies looked lovely, so lovely that I wanted to get re-married to my husband just so I could wear a bridal gown again :) . Donna Horner did the hair and makeup and she is SOOOO AWESOME-I love working with her!  If you are a bride looking for someone, you can find her on my website under weddings >>preferred vendors.

We had gorgeous gowns: Lazaro (my personal fave), Monique LhuillerWatters and Watters, and Rivini.  They were all so gorgeous !!

The shoot was an all day event. We started at 8 and ended up in the afternoon. Everyone worked so hard to get the girls ready and dressed, to get the flowers up in the trees and then to get it lit properly with all the studio lights. THANK GOD it did not rain that day (it was supposed to). We shot the whole thing on my property, glad I never cut those trees down :) .  Anyway…here are a few of my faves from the shoot
